The Village of Wesley Hills was incorporated in 1982 and covers about 3.4 square miles. It had 6,116 residents at the 2020 census, which makes it one of the least crowded communities in this part of the county.
Bigger houses tend to have bigger chimneys. A single wide stack may carry two or three flues for a fireplace, a second fireplace and the heating system. Some homes have more than one chimney.

What goes wrong on a wide chimney
Width creates its own problems. A wide crown spans more distance between flues, so it cracks more readily as it heats and cools. A wide chimney also blocks more water on the uphill side of the roof. Without a cricket to divert it, water and snow sit against the back of the stack and work on the flashing.
When one flue in a shared chimney is damaged, the others need checking as well. A gap in the wall between two flues can let exhaust from the heating system cross into the fireplace flue.
